We have been involved in optical thin film coating since 1996.  We started off as a process development consultancy unit within the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (now renamed as Spring).  We had designed and developed numerous thin film coating processes for the industry and helped to characterize the products produced by our customers.  We were involved in the design and moulding of plastic optical components. In 2001, we moved into offering contract coating services when PSB Corporation Pte Ltd was formed.  During 2003, external partner was brought in to expand the business and hence Opto-precision Pte Ltd was formed in April 2003.

We are strategically located in the largest industrial estate in Singapore (Jurong) with a total floor area of 12,000sqft.  Our coating facility are housed in a Class 10K cleanroom environment.  Our advanced plasma ion-assisted coating equipments are capable of producing highly sophisticated coating equipment.

In 2008, with the confidence build up with our customer, Opto-precision has moved up the value chain from optics coating to optics assembly business.

We have the track record of supply quality products used in demanding conditions such as in the military to the mass volume products used in the consumer electronics industry.  We can provide a one-stop, turnkey solution to the supply of optical components or modules.  Our capability is comparable to, if not better than, many of the players in the industry.  

We are one of the few suppliers of thin film coated plastic components in the region. We work on fast turnaround times.  Our price may not be the lowest, but we are still competitive when compared to many USA, European or Japanese suppliers and more importantly, we provide quality and value-for-money products.

We are situated right in the heart of South-East Asia and near to most leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers.  This minimises movement of goods in the supply chain.  With the elaborate and efficicent telecommunication and transport infrastructure that Singapore has, we can work effortlessly with our clients throughout the world.  

Singapore has a strong Intellectual Property (IP) protection system in place and we uphold the IP rights of our customers.  Singapore has also Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with various countries (including USA), where some finished goods originating from Singapore will be free from tariff.
