Plastic Components

|
Plastic or polymer
optics are
cheaper to produce through injection molding. Other
advantages are they are light, offer more choices and flexibility for
incorporation of aspherical or other complicated geometric surfaces.
Materials commonly used to make plastic optics are PMMA, PC,
COC and PS. Coatings are used on plastic to give
anti-reflective (AR), reflective, or half-mirror effect as in
ski-goggles or handphone covers.
Applications
examples
- Bar-code readers
- Optical sensors
- Optical storage pick-up lenses
- Imaging devices

Examples
of our AR
coatings
 |
|
 |
Narrow band AR coating
This narrow band AR is to reduce reflection at 630nm or surrounding
wavelengths to less than 0.25% or even lower. |
|
Wide band AR coating
This wide band AR is to reduce reflection at the wavelength
range of 420nm to 680nm to less than 0.5%. |
